The United States Air Force has relocated its bombers from RAF Fairford in England back to bases within the United States. This strategic movement follows an investigation into a suspected terror plot linked to the military facility.
B-52 and B-1 bombers, which had been stationed at RAF Fairford since the onset of the US-Iran conflict, were involved in missions targeting Iran. Observations confirmed the departure of several B-1 bombers from the base on Sunday.
The decision to withdraw these aircraft occurs amid ongoing tensions between the US and Iran, with President Donald Trump weighing options for further military action against Tehran. He has indicated that Washington is at a crossroads, choosing between a diplomatic resolution or escalating military measures.
This move is tied to the recent arrest of a dual British-Iranian national in London, suspected of involvement in a terror plot. Six individuals were detained and later released on bail as part of the investigation, with British authorities suggesting a connection to Iran. However, Tehran has denied any involvement in the alleged plot.
Despite the withdrawal from RAF Fairford, the US continues to assert its presence in the Middle East, deploying additional naval forces and aircraft carrier groups to the region as tensions with Iran persist.
