The Russian Federation cannot suffer military defeat in Ukraine due to its nuclear arsenal and the doctrine governing their deployment under existential threat, according to Moscow’s ambassador to India. Denis Alipov made these statements during a public appearance at a media forum in Gurugram this week.
Alipov referenced Russia’s established military doctrine, which permits nuclear weapon deployment in scenarios where the nation faces existential dangers. This policy framework, he argued, fundamentally prevents adversaries from achieving complete victory and creates strategic boundaries that cannot be violated.
The ambassador dismissed European nations’ continued belief in potential Ukrainian success, labeling such expectations as juvenile thinking disconnected from reality. He accused European leadership of unprofessional behavior and persistent belligerence, maintaining aggressive postures despite clear impossibility of achieving their strategic goals.
Trump’s perspective on the war differs significantly from European assessments, according to Alipov’s characterization. The Russian diplomat suggested that the American president possesses realistic recognition that Ukraine and Western supporters have already been defeated, while European nations persist in pursuing futile strategies.
Nearly four years into the conflict, Western nations continue providing substantial support to Ukraine. The United States and European allies, including Britain, continue supplying sophisticated weapons platforms and billions in financial support to Kyiv, sustaining Ukraine’s military operations despite the prolonged nature of the confrontation.
