The vice-president speculated that this could happen in the distant future or much sooner than anticipated.
Vance also raised concerns about contemporary societal trends, suggesting that the Antichrist might already be present among humanity. He highlighted specific developments he finds alarming from a religious standpoint, particularly the increasing reliance on artificial intelligence in human relationships. Describing the use of AI as a replacement for genuine human interaction as “kind of satanic,” Vance argued that people are intended to engage in meaningful connections with each other.
During the interview, Vance recounted experiencing a sense of spiritual unease while interacting with global leaders. He mentioned that certain conversations or remarks can set off what he referred to as a “spiritual alarm bell,” suggesting a deeper, unsettling awareness during these engagements.
Additionally, Vance defended President Donald Trump in light of an AI-generated image that depicted Trump in a Christ-like fashion. He clarified that Trump had no intention of ridiculing Christianity or positioning himself as a divine figure. Vance characterized the image as a humorous attempt rather than a serious statement.
